UPS Planes Around The World Examined For Suspicious Packages
Airports have been put on high alert. A UPS plane within the United Kingdom had been found to have a suspicious package. Inspection of UPS trucks are being carried out in both countries. The "suspicious" package found was an altered toner cartridge.
UPS shipments postponed around the world
This morning, high alert was what all U.S. airports were put on. All of this happened because of a suspicious package found Thursday. It was found within the United Kingdom on a UPS plane. A UPS truck in New York had to be inspected. Along with that, cargo flights in Newark and Philadelphia were things looked into. These inspections are to look at any packages that were received from Yemen. Working together is the transportation Security Administration and UPS officials. This is being done so all suspicious shipments could be removed.
Bomb squads called in to examine UPS shipments
A toner cartridge was in the plane that was first delayed within the U.K.. The manipulated toner cartridge tested negative for explosives but is being further tested. The UPS truck in New York will be looked at by the bomb squad still. The packages aren’t really big. That mean there isn’t much of a risk with them.
Using extreme caution with situation
”Out of abundance of caution,” All UPS trucks and planes are likely to be searched. Shutting down airports isn’t much of an option right now. That is because there isn’t much of a risk. The only thing that might cause an impact would be the freight distribution. The impact won’t be large at all. In other words, though you will find suspicious packages, the UPS cargo flights and UPS trucks postponed are far from a reason to be fearful of the holiday packages that might soon start arriving on your doorstep.
